Ozark Blues Society of Northwest Arkansas
2016 Blues Challenge Prizes
There will be two winners announced on the same night of the competition -- one band and one solo/duo act. Winners will then be eligible to compete at the four-day 33rd International Blues Challenge on Beale Street in Memphis, January 31st – February 4, 2017.
The Ozark Blues Society of Northwest Arkansas will sponsor and contribute up to the following accommodations and potential amounts for our winners’ IBC travel and lodging expenses:
- Solo/Duo Act: 1 Hotel room (4 nights) located near the Beale Street Entertainment District
- Band Act: 2 Hotel rooms (4 nights) located near the Beale Street Entertainment District
In addition, the winning acts will be invited to play at the 2017 Eureka Springs Blues Weekend
The Ozark Blues Society requires that the winning Solo/Duo Act and Band Act participate in 1 fundraiser, hosted by the Ozark Blues Society. In an effort to offset IBC expenses, the winning acts are asked to donate their performances for this fundraiser.
Additionally, Ozark Blues Society is available to partner with winning acts through offering promotion and support for one additional fundraiser per act. If this option is chosen, 50% of the net cash profits of any such fundraiser(s) will be retained by the Ozark Blues Society, with the remaining 50% awarded to the act(s) participating.
- One participating act 50%
- Two participating acts 50% divided as follows
- 30% to band
- 20% to Solo/Duo
Lastly, artists may independently organize their own fundraisers in addition to performing for the required OBS fundraiser in order to help meet their additional IBC travel expenses.
