Call for Volunteers:
To our musician friends in Northwest Arkansas….
Ozark Blues Society’s BLUES BUILDERS/YOUTH JAMS is receiving responses to our outreach for young musicians in Northwest Arkansas. And guess what? WE NEED YOU! If anyone is, or knows of, a musician willing to mentor young musicians to build them up for our “Blues Builders Youth Jams”, please contact Sandy McCann at smccann7@sbcglobal.net.
“Blues Builders” is OBS’s introductory program for our upcoming comprehensive BLUES IN THE SCHOOL program. If you or someone you know is interested, Sandy can answer your questions, and give you more information on our program. Right now, we have several young players who have attended some jams. Presenting a special request is a 12-year-old guitar hopeful who “knows a few chords and wants to learn more.” This is our immediate need right now, but there will be more to follow, in all areas of instrumentation, including vocals.
Our program here in NWA will be a serious effort and we expect it will be supported by many corporate sponsors. So, your efforts and involvement will be well recognized in our community, and greatly appreciated. Please let Sandy know of your interest so she can contact you when the time arises.
